We have spent more on gas in the last 2 weeks than we have in the past 2 months combined…and it may have been even longer than that! In 6 days alone, we spent 9 hours in the car – and a fair amount from our gas budget. While I know this will wax and wane as the holidays come and go and as our varying commitments 90 minutes away fluctuate. (The joys of moving and trying to maintain previous commitments.)
True, I could have dropped them. But try telling an 8 year old that she won’t be in her favorite things.
How’d that go?
For me, it brought on tears and sadness. I caved. So…we are now continuing these activities until they finish in the Spring. Plus, they occasionally throw in an extra practice and a performance here or there. Hence, the extra commute. (I’m just thankful that we originally scheduled them to be all on one evening.)
But what can I say…I’m tired!
Very tired.
I have no desire to go and sit in a car for 3 hours driving to and from an activity that leaves me sitting for 4 hours will very little to do.
Ah well, maybe I’ll finish that book I’m reading tonight, set up some work schedule stuff, and still have time to adjust some IPhone settings. 🙂
